The great pumpkin search and cat's meow!

We hit up The Girls' Strawberry Patch for the first pumpkins we've bought in years.
There are rescued birds there too and Ava loves them!

She's searching for the bunnies that have a burrow behind this huge pumpkin.

:)

Attempting a photo-op.

We don't get a ton of pictures together and I love this one.

In the background you can see the extensive rows of hydroponic stands. The growing season starts pretty soon!

A hippie Jeep for our cutie pie.

"This is the one!"

"And these too! But they're awfully heavy." She had to sit down and take a little break.

This afternoon, we took a break from football and headed downtown to visit this exhibit. It was all about cats - artwork, crafts, and more.

Ava pointed out all the kitties in this painting. She also really liked feeling all the sculptures.

In one room we found three huge stuffed cats and Ava took turns kissing them all and riding on the white Bengal.

In the craft room, Ava spotted this little girl and watched her playing with a cat she made. They took turns waving at each other too. :)

"Whew! I need a cat nap!"

Prior to our Sunday afternoon adventures, Ava, Daddy, and Dolly watched some Signing Times.

And then we carved our pumpkin!

She wasn't really into putting her hands in the seeds, but liked spooning the goop. She was also a good helper and picked up any seeds that dropped on the deck.

Little did we know that the cat theme would rule the day!

Two weeks worth...

Two weekends ago we were invited to a 1 year old's birthday party. It was a pool party and Ava and I spent the majority of it in the pool. She is turning into quite the little fish. She loves kicking her legs, reaching for Mommy and Daddy, and even going under water. I didn't get any pictures of the super cute birthday boy, Ian, but he had a great time too.
Carrying around the pool table brush in her party dress.

Every girl wears socks on her ears, right?!?

Ava and Lyla, busy exploring the contents of Nicky's purse.

"Hey! That's my mom's!"

Helping give Lyla her bottle - and very excited about it, too.

Giving Dolly a bottle.

Nicky and the girls right before bedtime.

Wearing Mommy's cowgirl boots and an armful of stickers = Fashion Diva.

"Almost my size..."

We had beautiful weather this past weekend and spent Saturday morning at the playground at my school. Ava loved this tunnel in the Miss Gibb Express.

Turning this wheel was a highlight.

Trying to get her to sit still is a challenge. :)

She loved playing Peek through these holes.

Before we left, I showed Ryan and Ava the new Kindergarten classrooms. They had a lot of fun playing with the toys.

Preparing for nap time. :)
Brent's sister and her family are renting a time share for the week. We went to visit them and spent some time at the beach Saturday afternoon.

Easton found some great toys to play with!

Ava wasn't a huge fan of the crashing waves, but enjoyed having her legs buried. In this shot she's saying "Go?" as in "Where'd my legs go?"

She is an avid reader already! She's gotten really good at backing up to her seat and sitting down. I love that she holds large books with her feet to make reading and page-turning a bit easier.

A fun-filled weekend!

After school on Friday, Ava and I met Danielle and her boys (Max and Penton) at a local park. The weather was gorgeous and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Playing in the school bus - too cute. She practiced backing up to a seat and sitting down rather than climbing onto the seat and turning herself around. It's hysterical to watch.

Max and Penton crawling after Ava who had run away with their ball. They're almost one year old and so adorable.

Ava loved exploring their stroller and all of their belongings - sippy cups, pacifiers, hats, etc.

After our Saturday morning breakfast, we enjoyed a walk at Green Cay Nature Center. Here, Ava and I are saying "hi" to the ducks. They were swimming parallel to the boardwalk so she had tons of opportunities to wave at them.

An environmental fashionista.

On our way to the next chickee hut.
Helping push the stroller.

Saying "hi" to the turtle in the nature center. We also watched a little bit of a movie about fish. She waved to the fish on the screen too!

Sunday Funday! After an early breakfast, we drove down to Quiet Waters Park in Boca to visit the water playground. We'd never been there and were really impressed with the facility. A zero entry pool, lifeguards, tons of lounge chairs and big umbrellas, and every water feature imaginable.

Checking out the playground from a good vantage point before braving the waters.

Can we say "holding on for dear life?!?" This was not her favorite moment of the day which seemed odd to us since she's kind of a dare devil and usually loves the water.

She did enjoy this! There were ropes hanging down throughout the playground and when you pulled on them, water sprayed out.

Wiped out after only an hour, but we plan on going back! Plus, it'll be a great place to visit when family comes down to Florida (hint, hint). :)

Daddy's girl.

Our little beach bum, relaxing on the drive home. Not only are the glasses and hat a great look, but the drink and snack cup stuck under her legs are quite comical too. She's taken to storing them there when we're in the car - gotta be close by!
